Palm Sunday Musical Celebration: Christ, Our King!
"Christ, Our King” is a celebration of the majesty and goodness of our Savior Jesus Christ. This event is a gift to our communities from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We invite the communities and churches of Melissa, McKinney, and surrounding areas to participate with us!
The event is purposefully slated for Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter, since that is the day Christ made his triumphful entry into Jerusalem and was worshipped as a King. The event is a true celebration, positive and upbeat in tone, to match the feel of that Palm Sunday long ago.
Highlights of the night include high-quality musical performances from soloists and small groups, along with some brief spoken word detailing the events of Palm Sunday. The event will be closed by a mighty choir singing selections from Handel’s Messiah, accompanied by a live chamber orchestra. It will be powerful and unforgettable.
We hope this celebration will usher in a beautiful and holy Easter week for those that attend.
The event is free and open to the public. All are invited to witness and share the love for Christ.

Run for Hope/Walk in Unity
Run for Hope/Walk in Unity will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Towne Lake Park in McKinney. This interfaith charity event brings our community together to support NeighborHub, an innovative collaboration that unites multiple non-profit organizations under one roof to provide comprehensive resources for those struggling with hunger, homelessness, and other essential needs.
The event will feature a 1-mile Unity Walk, a 5K Run for all fitness levels, and a Spring Festival with fun activities for the whole family. Please note that this event will replace the Fall Festival, offering an even greater opportunity for fellowship and service. In addition, we invite you to join an Interfaith Devotional on Sunday evening, April 13.
As we follow the counsel to reemphasize the sacred significance of Easter, we believe this event provides a meaningful way to honor the Savior's Atonement and Resurrection through service to our neighbors.

General Conference
General conference is the worldwide gathering of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Twice a year, during the first weekend of April and the first weekend of October, Church leaders from around the world share messages, or sermons, focused on Jesus Christ and His gospel.
All Are Welcome: We invite everyone of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds and from everywhere in the world to watch, listen, and participate.
An Opportunity to Build Faith in the Living Christ: Participating in (watching) general conference helps us learn how we can find peace, hope, and joy through Jesus Christ. We learn how to strengthen our families as we follow Jesus Christ’s teachings and how to receive personal guidance and inspiration from God.
A Global Broadcast: General conference is streamed and broadcast live in about 70 languages and is later translated into more than 100 languages. It consists of five two-hour sessions that you can watch live or on your own schedule.
